| Transport: | Original collection tubes, after incubation and centrifugation, at 2–8°C. | |

| Remarks: | Immediately following collection, each specimen tube must be mixed vigorously by shaking the tube up and down 10 times to ensure that the entire inner surface of the tube has been coated with blood. After mixing, incubate upright at 37°C for 16–24 hours (within 16 hours of collection). After incubation, centrifuge for 15 minutes at 2000–3000 RCF (g). | |
