Wildcards Symbol (*)

The wildcard symbol (*) can be used in place of letters or characters in query words to search for different permutations of a word.

*	Can be in any position in the term and matches any number of characters.

Boolean Parameters

Search terms can be a single word or several words. The search engine automatically inserts and between words if nothing else is specified, so the Boolean term and can be omitted in search terms. For example, searching for tissue assay is the same as searching for tissue AND assay.

Quotes can be used to search for phrases. For example:

"tissue assay "

Words must be present in the specified order with no intervening words

Specimen Required:	Collect: Testing is limited to the University of Utah Health Sciences Center, Primary Children's Medical Center (10432), and Intermountain Shriners Hospital (10367) only. Lavender (EDTA) or pink (K₂EDTA). Specimen Preparation: Do not freeze. Transport 5 mL whole blood. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Remarks: Unacceptable Conditions: Separator or gel tubes. Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 72 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: Unacceptable
