Specimen Required: Collect: Plasma separator tube or serum separator tube.

Specimen Preparation: Allow serum tube to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 1 mL serum or plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.2 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens collected in EDTA, potassium oxalate, or sodium fluoride. Hemolyzed specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 4 days; Frozen: 6 weeks
UUHC Specimens:
Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: Unacceptable
