Specimen Required: Patient Prep: For urethral swab specimens, patients should not have urinated for at least 1 hour prior to collection.

Collect: Endocervical or male urethral swabs. Collect in Gen-ProbePace 2 collection and transport kit (ARUP Supply: Female kit: #12575, Male kit: #12576). Available online through eSupply using ARUP Connector contact ARUP Client Services at (800) 522-2787.

Specimen Preparation: Transport swab in Gen-Probe® Pace 2 transport media.

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens in any transport media other than indicated above. Specimen in swab transport media without a swab. Gross presence of blood in the specimen.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month
