Specimen Required: Collect: Serum separator tube, lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA) or green (sodium or lithium heparin).

Specimen Preparation: Separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours after collection. Transfer 0.5 mL serum or plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min 0.3 mL) Indicate age and sex of patient on test request form AND specimen tube.

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month
