Interpretive Data: Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is a clinical syndrome caused by infection with C. trachomatis which typically includes genital bubonic disease.  The serologic detection of C. trachomatis infection is complicated by the presence of cross-reactive antibody to other Chlamydia species or nonspecific stimulation of anti-chlamydia antibodies.  To differentiate C. trachomatis infection from other Chlamydia species, a panel of Chlamydia is tested for the determination of specific antibody titers.
