Isohemagglutinin Titer, IgG & IgM : 2000280

Methodology: Hemagglutination

Specimen Required: Collect: Plain red, lavender (EDTA), or pink (K2EDTA).

Specimen Preparation: Do not freeze. Transport 14 mL whole blood. (Min: 6 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Unacceptable Conditions: Separator or gel tubes.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 72 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: Unacceptable

Normals are not applicable.
Note:  Isohemagglutinin titers contain both IgM and IgG. Both IgG and IgM titers will be performed for this test. If only IgM or IgG titer is desired, order Isohemagglutinin Titer, IgG (2000271) or Isohemagglutinin Titer, IgM (2000270). Specimens are screened for antibodies; if positive, an antibody panel will be performed. Titers will be performed as indicated for specific blood groups. Additional charges will apply to antibody identification and titer testing.
CPT Code(s): 86900 ABO; if blood type is A add: 86941 x2 Anti-B titer; if blood type is B, add: 86941 x2 Anti-A titer; if blood type is O, add: 86941 x2 Anti-A titer; 86941 x2 Anti-B titer. If blood type is AB, no additional titers will be performed.
