Wildcards Symbol (*)

The wildcard symbol (*) can be used in place of letters or characters in query words to search for different permutations of a word.

*	Can be in any position in the term and matches any number of characters.

	*NA	matches DNA and RNA

Boolean Parameters

Search terms can be a single word or several words. The search engine automatically inserts and between words if nothing else is specified, so the Boolean term and can be omitted in search terms. For example, searching for tissue assay is the same as searching for tissue AND assay.

Quotes can be used to search for phrases. For example:

"tissue assay "

Words must be present in the specified order with no intervening words

Collect: Cervical Brush in ThinPrep® transport Pap Test™ Media. Specimen Preparation: Place each specimen in an individually sealed bag. (Min: 2 mL) Storage/Transport Temperature: Room temperature. Also acceptable: Refrigerated. Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens in any transport media other than indicated above. Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 18 weeks; Refrigerated: 18 weeks; Frozen: Unacceptable
